Timesheets and exports
Review timesheets and actual worked hours
Review past and current actual work, keep future periods out of payroll totals and preserve attendance as the source for actual time.
1. Review only completed or current work
Future timesheet cards and future hours are hidden across plan tiers. Timesheets are for work that has happened or is happening today, not for forecasting future payroll.
For past dates and today, ElShift can show a schedule baseline from the published schedule first, then from the live manager schedule only when no published version exists.
2. Understand the source of truth
When an employee clocks in, ElShift freezes the schedule context for that attendance record. When the employee clocks out, the actual attendance duration becomes the worked-time source.
Manager-entered corrections and manager-hours rows remain separate payroll workflows. They do not rewrite the underlying attendance event history.
3. Before exporting payroll
- Use the timesheet review to confirm actual worked hours for the selected past/current period.
- Future dates are excluded from totals, CSV payroll exports and PDF payroll exports.
- PDF and CSV totals are actual-only; they should not be treated as a future schedule forecast.
- Check manager hours separately when manager-hour tracking is enabled.
