Timesheets and exports

Track manager hours

Choose the Organization Admin or Department Manager to track, review their hours and include them in timesheet exports.

1. Choose which manager to track

Open Settings → Workspace. In Timesheet preferences, the available manager depends on the current scope: an active Organization Admin at organization level, or an active Department Manager when a department is selected.

An Organization Admin configures the tracked manager for the scope. If no eligible manager exists, assign the appropriate admin/manager role first.

Choose the manager for the current scope, then enable Track manager hours.

2. Enable Track manager hours

  1. 1.Select the manager to track for the current organization or department.
  2. 2.Turn on Track manager hours.
  3. 3.Open Timesheets and verify that the manager appears at the top of the period totals.

3. How the initial daily value works

Manager time is independent from employee shift assignments. When there is no saved manager-hours value for a date, ElShift uses the day's first chronological shift as the initial hours reference.

Search and location filters do not change that manager-hours fallback because it is calculated from the unfiltered schedule.

4. Edit and export manager hours

The tracked manager can edit their manager-hours value in Timesheets, and an Organization Admin can manage it as well. Saved manager hours are included in timesheet totals and exports.

Manager totals are intentionally shown first and use a neutral circular marker to distinguish them from employee totals without implying that the manager is an employee assignment.

The tracked manager is visually distinct, appears first, and their daily hours can be edited before export.
