Access and workspaces
Invite and manage organization members
Grant, change or revoke access for other ElShift users.
1. Send an invitation
- 1.Open Settings, then Members.
- 2.Enter the person’s first name, last name and email address.
- 3.Choose Organization Admin, Department Manager or Member.
- 4.For department-scoped roles, choose the department.
- 5.Select Send invitation.
2. Existing users
If the email already belongs to an ElShift account, the role is granted immediately. Otherwise, the person receives an invitation and the role activates when they sign up with that email.
3. Change or revoke access
Use the role and department selectors in the member list to update access. Use Revoke to remove the selected role. A revoked person can be invited again later.
4. Use Member for read-only audit access
Choose Member when the person needs to inspect ElShift without managing the workspace. Member does not grant editing or administrative permissions.
For a standalone organization, the Member reviews that organization workspace. When departments are enabled, choose the department the Member is allowed to audit; the role remains limited to that department.
5. Do not use Member as a substitute for Employee Hub
Member is for read-only access to the manager workspace. If an employee needs their own employee-facing access, manage Employee Hub access from that employee's profile instead of granting Member merely for self-service.
6. Recognize ElShift invitation emails
ElShift invitation and authentication emails use the ElShift transactional design and support footer. Employees should use the newest invitation or recovery message when several were issued.
